Blisteringly hot weather, so A/C was appreciated, and tour overall fine, but a few complaints:
no photo opportunity outside Carrie's house as before - VERY disappointed about that - instead, tour of meatpacking district, made to get out, wander about designer stores, which we could do on our own in cooler weather...
no toilet paper on board bus - this really should have been checked, and nor was problem rectified.
tourguide lovely, and braving the heat well, but did go on too much about her own escapades, getting trashed etc - really not interested in her life but that of actors from show - someone needs to tell Miss Stacey this. More factual info about show, the city itself would have been more useful/enjoyable. |

the tour guide was enthusiastic and informative. she was well organised and gave us plenty of time to peruse the shops from scenes in SATC. Great atmosphere and I would recommend this to any fan of the show. |

Alright, my review is going to probably be quite different from the rest ...perhaps a good dose of reality and truth - something I don't think was accurately stated yet.
As probably one of the biggest fans ever of "Sex and the City", I was really excited to go on the "Sex and the City" tour. I had read the reviews online and when everyone was writing positive comments about the tour, I couldn't wait to see it all for myself. However, I was somewhat disappointed. Our tourguide was very enthusiastic and had a great sense of humor, but overall the tour was dull and disappointing for anyone who lives in/near NYC. It was more of a NYC tour, and should have allowed for stops for pictures, and for us to go into places and take pictures. Most times, the bus was just zooming past show and movie landmarks and didn't allow for any picture taking.
There was a completely pointless stop amongst a sidestreet where Carrie and the girls often go shopping (Stella McCarntney & Jeffrey's store area) - where there was nothing to do and most of the group was wondering why we were there, rather than at one of the shoe stores we see the girls always shopping in. Even the store owners looked at us like "Oh there goes the "Sex and the City" tour again and kind of gave the look of "if you're not going to buy our outrageously expensive merchandise, then please leave."
"The Pleasure Shop" was a good stop, as was "Magnolia's" on Bleecker St. I was shocked and a bit disgusted that we had to pay for a Cosmo drink at "Scout's Bar" and refused to make my fiance (who nicely took me on the tour for my birthday and was the only man on the tour) to then shell out more money for a drink. At the amount of money the tour was charging, like the cupcake at Magnolia's was free, the drink at "Scouts" should have been, too.
As it was my birthday, I was given a special birthday gift, which I thought was free and from the tour. I later found out my fiance paid for the merchandise - and overpaid at that. If someone is having a birthday or bachlorette party, the merchandise goody bag should be free of charge, as the merchandise is no great shakes.
Overall, the tour is so expensive to begin with, that when you nickel and dime patrons, it just made it look more like a NYC tourist trap to me. I assume if you aren't from the NY area or if you are from out of the country, the "Sex and the City" Tour must be a really big deal - as you get to see NYC and then some of the show sites. But, for locals, I honestly thought it was sort of disappointing.
Lastly, the tour ends near the HBO store near Times Square -- MILES from where it began at the Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue. Obviously, the intention is that you then spend more money at the HBO store, and then hike or pay AGAIN for a cab ride back to 5th Ave. to get to where you spend $50 to park.
Overall, disappointing and needing a lot more perks for the penny.... |

I expected much more because I am a big fan of the show. The guide knew only the clips in the bus and could not answer questions on other places the show used but not part of the tour.
She also spoke negatively about customers in previous tours who were not interested such as men. That should never happen. people are entitled to their own opinions and if men come to the tour to please their wives they do not need to grow an interest and be insulted later for not doing so.
The showing of the clips was usually after we left the place and not before. I think it would be better if it is done before so we can have a better sense of the place. |

Our bus had to be changed during the tour, so we had to change our route. Our
tour guide said we had to change our route therefore we did not get to see Carries
apartment which was very disappointing. |

The Sex and the City Tour is a great way to see the sites from Sex and the City and the sights of NY. Our tour guide, Lou, was wonderful - very knowldegeable and a very outgoing personality. The four stops were interesting - enjoyed the cupcakes from Magnolia (included in the price) and the Cosmo at the bar (not included but at a discounted price). I wish we could have made a few more stops at some of the actual locations - some were hard to see because they were on sidestreets. In general, it was a lot of fun; definitely worth the price; and a great way to relive the highlights of Sex and the City and have a very good tour of different neighborhoods in NYC. |

A great way to see the Sex and the City series come to life.......as well as the movie. We saw several new locations that were in the movie. Our tour guide Emily was so much fun and we loved watching clips of the show while on the bus. If you are a fan and even if your not.............this is something you won't want to miss! |
