My bf was worried that he would be the only guy on the tour, and I was worried that he wouldn't have too much fun, but neither was true. We had watched all the episodes of Sex and the City, and the movie, together, and both had so much fun! It was fun taking pictures together and we loved all the information we learned on the tour. We had both also watched all the commentaries on the Sex and the City disks, and still learned so so much new stuff, it was the most fun that I had in New York. I never had a cosmopolitan before, and didn't like it, but everything about the tour was amazing. Seeing the sites in person was really amazing, and even though I expected the tour to be the best experience ever, it was even better than I thought. I only regret not having cash on hand to tip our tour guide at the end. I feel so bad, she was great. It was obvious that she loved Sex and the City and giving tours.
The only bad thing about the tour was that the cashier at Magnolia Bakery yelled at me when I tried to order a mini-cheesecake. Since they get Sex and the City tours through there twice a day, every day, they obviously don't care about pissing people off and scolding them for not picking up the cheesecake before approaching the counter. :( |

Any tour is only as good as its guide. Ours was Amy, an actress who is as funny as hell and destined to become a star. While taking photos of "Carrie's stoop" on Perry Street, I overheard two girls on the tour say they wanted to take Amy's photo, too, as she might be famous one day. I don't doubt for a second that she will be. She's a hoot, and either enjoys what she does immensely, or is a very good actress indeed. Either way, she was the life and soul of the whole operation.
I did this tour alone (I am a writer, and wanted to check it out for my column) and, to be honest, really wished I had gone with at least one other person. It would be a fabulous thing to do with a bachelorette party, or a girls' weekend ... anything of that nature.
I actually live in New York (although I am from the UK, and write for a newspaper back home) and have been here for three years. Still, I saw parts of the city I was completely unfamiliar with.
The highlights of the tour? The cupcakes at Magnolia were a nice touch (although, as we ate them in a park across the street, a pigeon pooped on me), and the cut-price Cosmos at "Steve's" bar. They're pretty strong - made for a nice buzz for the end of the tour ...
The bus itself is air-conditioned, and has a bathroom - quite a classy way to travel, compared to some tour buses in the city.
Clips from the show are on TV screens as you go around the SATC spots - it's a great way to see what was filmed where.
Amy is full of trivia about the show, and even stories about the movie premiere afterparty. Ask her to tell you why she almost licked Mr Big's face ...
All in all, well worth the $42 - plus $9 for the Cosmo (special rate - they're usually $14. Welcome to Manhattan.)
I will be taking every female friend who visits from the UK from now on. |

We loved this - really good fun and showed us all the SATC hotspots with plenty of photo opportunities. Even if you're not the biggest fan of the show, it's a great wat to see lots of the city from the comfort of an air-conditioned bus!
Was the highlight of our trip to NYC! The guide was great - and even gave us some really good restaurant and bar recommendations. |

Great tour! Our guide, Lisa, was fun and approachable with lots of energy and knowledge about the show! It was great to see Carrie's stoop, Magnolia Bakery, many of the local parks featured in the show, and even have a drink in Aydin and Steev's bar! Would definitely recommend it! |

My daughter and I are both big fans of the show. For her 20th birthday, I surprised her with tickets for the tour. The tour left on time and the bus was comfortable and cool. We talked to people from the UK and Sweden. Staci, our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and both my daughter and I enjoyed answering the trivia questions. The TV clips we saw while riding helped me remember certain scenes. The mini tour thru Manhattan was lots of fun letting us view locations where the show was filmed be it a store, park or even a street. We enjoyed visiting "Carrie's stoop" , "Steve's Bar" and other sights along the way. The cupcakes were a treat and quite delicious. The 3-hour ride goes by quickly and you're never bored. |
